Kramer Champlin Does His Part
Former WNC Pitcher Grabs Win for U.S. All-Stars
Kramer Champlin on the mound.
One of Western Nevada College's best pitchers of 2010 has now shown his talents on the international stage. Kramer Champlin, a 6'5" right-hander who is a member of the USA National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association All-Star baseball team, was the winning pitcher in a 3-1 victory over Chinese Taipei.
It was the first victory for American team that is competing in the Honkbal Tournament in the Netherlands. Champlin threw 2 1/3 innings in relief, his only outing in the tournament so far. The U.S. team has finished the first round of the double round-robin event 1-3. Other teams include Cuba, Japan, and the Netherlands.
Champlin earned regional pitching honors both years he played in a Wildcats uniform. He will be a student athlete at PAC 10 Powerhouse Arizona State University this fall.
