On Stage Nov. 11-13 & Nov. 18-21

WNC Fallon Presents Cinderella, the Enchanted version

Western Nevada College's production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, the Enchanted version, takes the stage at Churchill County High School Auditorium Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 11-13 and 18-21, at 7 p.m. The production marks WNC's sixth musical theatre performance in Fallon.

The Enchanted version of Cinderella may be best known for the 1997 remake starring Brandy and Whitney Houston. This stage adaptation melds warmth of the whimsical fairy tale warmth with a touch of comedy to create a performance full of charm and originality.

The WNC production boasts a cast of more than 40 performers including Jordyn Crowley as Cinderella and Spencer Robertson as the Prince. Crowley is a sophomore at Churchill County High School, and a member of Fallon Swing Kids, the CCHS Honor Choir, and All-State Choir. She made her theatrical debut in WNC's 2005 production of The Music Man. Robertson, also a sophomore at CCHS, is no stranger to working with Crowley. They have starred together in Shakespeare Comes to Calamity Creek, a Junior High Musical production, and recently the duo took first place in an Idaho fox trot competition. Robertson has also participated in Honor Choir and All-State Choir, and appeared on stage for a number of plays including WNC's production of Carousel.

Other cast members include Debra Rister as the evil stepmother; Lissa Overlie as the fairy godmother; David Wuth as the king; Kara Sommer as queen; and Steve Fraker as Lionel, the royal steward. The roles of stepsister are double cast by Katie Jones and Courtney Edwards as Joy, and Cassie O'Toole and Brittney Edwards as Grace.

Behind the scenes are director Carl Robertson, musical director Noreen Swenson, assistant director Cynthia Cox, stage manager Laurianne Lattin, set designers Glenn Perazzo and Scott Thompson, and costume crew Adonna Crowley and Suzanne Noonkester.

Tickets are available weekdays beginning Monday, Oct. 18, at WNC Fallon, 160 Campus Way, or at Robertson and Koenig Optometry, 65 N. Taylor St., Fallon. Prices are $8 for all opening night seats, and $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for children 12 and younger for all other performances. For information, contact Ginny Dugan, 423-7565.
