The Western Nevada College baseball and softball teams both play at home this weekend, and a series of events are planned for fans attending the games.
Wildcats Softball plays Snow College on Friday, April 22, 1 and 3 p.m., and Saturday, April 23, noon and 2 p.m., at Edmonds Sports Complex, Field A, 1555 Livermore Lane, Carson City.
On Friday, WNC pitcher and Carson High graduate Cassie Vondrak will sign a letter of intent to play for a university program at 11:45 a.m. at the Edmonds field.
On Saturday, WNC students are encouraged to "stack the stands" in support of the Wildcats softball team. With a WNC ID card, students will receive free admission and a Wildcats fan pack, compliments of the Associated Students of Western Nevada (ASWN).
Wildcats Baseball takes on the College of Southern Nevada, Friday-Saturday, April 22-23, noon and 2 p.m. at John L. Harvey Field, WNC Carson City campus.
On Friday, half of ticket proceeds will be dedicated to the memorial funds of Stephen Anderson and Keegan Aiazzi who tragically died in a diving accident two weeks ago. Many of their classmates will be in attendance and rubber bracelets with an inscription in their memory will be sold, with 100% of the proceeds going to the memorial fund.
Friday is also a day for WNC students to "stack the stands." With a WNC ID, students will receive free admission and a Wildcats fan pack, compliments of ASWN.
