The Western Nevada College softball team finished 1-3 in its weekend series against Snow College of Utah. The Wildcats started solid on Friday at Edmonds Field with a 4-2 victory in the opener, but the momentum could not be sustained.

The Wildcats scored four runs in the opener off doubles by Niki DiSera (2) and Ashley Gleason and singles by Jordan Thomas and Tera Tibbitts. In the second game, however, WNC faltered and allowed Snow to take the game, 9-3. Ashley Hall smacked a double and a solo homerun, Thomas doubled, and Megan Hein singled.

On Saturday, WNC managed nine hits but converted only two runs in the doubleheader, allowing Snow College to dominate, 8-2 and 7-0. Game one saw a double and a home run by Thomas and singles by Melanie Pfeiffer (2) and Sarah Cudahy. In the final game, Cudahy, Thomas (2) and Gleason each had singles.
Coach Leah Wentworth said, "We played well defensively and offensively on Friday, but on Saturday, Snow outhit us, and when they got runners on they found a way to push them across."

Western travels to Henderson to take on the College of Southern Nevada, Friday-Saturday, April 29-30. The Wildcats then return to Edmonds Field on May 6-7 for their final conference series versus the College of Southern Idaho.
