Western Nevada College Fallon is offering one-day classes to help students gain knowledge about computer software and programs, and obtain valuable skills for career advancement. Classes are .5 units each and meet Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. throughout the fall semester.
Basic Internet (CA 144-1002, class #80233) meets September 24 and helps students develop an understanding about what the Internet offers, including online research, multimedia information and a range of other topics. The class covers using e-mail, exchanging messages with users and accessing the web using search engines.
Introduction to Word Processing, (CA 102-1003, class #80194) meets October 1 and uses Microsoft Word 2007 to teach the fundamentals of word processing. The class includes exercises to teach students how to create, edit and print professional looking documents.
Microsoft Word: Intermediate (CA117-1003, class #81013) meets October 8, and introduces advanced functions of MS Word, including time saving techniques and special features that make creating documents easier.
Introduction to Spreadsheets (CA103-1003, class #80199) meets October 15 and provides information and computing exercises to help establish the skills to create formulas, and edit/print spreadsheets.
Microsoft Excel: Intermediate (CA119-1003, class #80221) meets October 22, and covers more complex formulas, functions and time-saving techniques for linking sheets, charts, and database management features.
