Community leaders help support the college
Four members of the local community will join the Western Nevada College Foundation Board and offer their support for the college in the community. Jacqueline Bryant, Greg C. Davis, Mina Fiddyment and Kelly Kite are expected to have their appointments ratified at an upcoming meeting of the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Bryant is a 13-year resident of Carson City and an attorney at Holland & Hart law firm. She graduated from California Western School of Law in 1995 and practices primarily in utility, insurance, and administrative law. She previously worked as an attorney for the Bureau of Consumer Advocate, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, the Division of Insurance, and the Governor’s Office. Her varied legal experience includes utilities, insurance, administrative law, negotiation and legislation.
Greg C. Davis is a native Nevadan of 53 years and a 41-year Carson City resident. He is the son of Jack C. Davis, who served as WNC’s first president from 1971-1983. Davis graduated from Carson High School in 1977 and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Nevada, Reno in 1981 with a major in Renewable Natural Resources. He began his career with Southwest Gas Corporation in 1984 and is currently manager of construction for Northern Nevada. Davis has coached soccer, basketball and softball at Carson High School, served as the regional commissioner for AYSO youth soccer, and was president of Capital Soccer Club. He has also served on numerous boards including two to help select baseball and soccer coaches for WNC, the Carson City Youth Sports Association Board (18 years), the Nevada Commission to Manage Wildlife (8 years) and the Carson City Park and Recreation Board (4 years).
Mina Fiddyment is the Women’s Health Navigator for the Women’s Health Institute at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare. She has an educational background in Community Health Science from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Fiddyment works closely with the Development Department at Carson Tahoe. However, her primary focus is to improve health literacy within our community and outlying areas through educational seminars, personalized navigation through the healthcare process, and a variety of other wellness resources.
Kelly Kite is the Nevada Assemblyman for District 39, which covers Douglas County and portions of Carson City and Washoe County. He has contributed his service to Northern Nevada for 28 years, including three terms as a Douglas County Commissioner. Over the years, Kite has had affiliations with the Douglas County Business Council, the Western Nevada Resource Conservation and Development District, the Natural Resource Conservation Services, the United States Department of Agriculture, the Douglas County Republican Central Committee, the Sierra Nevada Republican Women and the Incline Village/Crystal Bay Republican Women.
