WNC Playing at Home This Weekend

Weather Forces Move from Colorado

The Western Nevada College softball team gets to play at home for a second straight weekend. WNC and Colorado Northwestern Community College decided to swap home dates for their 2014 Scenic West Athletic Conference softball series, expecting better field conditions in Carson City than they would face in Colorado. There, a melting snowpack has created soggy field conditions.

As a result, the Wildcats will host the Spartans in a four-game series Friday and Saturday at Edmonds Sports Complex. Friday’s doubleheader starts at 1 p.m., while the first pitch for Saturday’s twin bill is at noon.

In return, the Wildcats will travel to Rangely, Colo., for a four-game set on April 11 and 12. This year’s Wildcats softball team boasts more than a dozen Northern Nevada prep standouts who are now playing at the next level.
