Western Nevada College is committed to compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

1. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act: "No other qualified, handicapped individual in the United States shall solely, by reason of his handicap, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."
2. Section 202 of the Americans with Disability Act: "No qualified individual with a disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from the participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs or activities of any public entity, or be subject to discrimination by any such entity."

A "person with a disability" includes "any person who (1) has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more of such person's major life's activities; (2) has a record of such an impairment; or (3) is regarded as having such an impairment."
