In recent years, STEM-related careers have rapidly expanded, offering some of the most exciting, in-demand, and lucrative opportunities. As the field continues to evolve and grow, more and more computer science professionals will be needed. In this section, we take a look at scholarships offered through these groups, including charitable organizations, corporations, institutions, advocacy groups, government and professional associations. We can’t cover them all, however, so look to our scholarship list for more ideas.

At The Law Offices of Joel J. Kofsky, we understand how challenging it can be to meet the costs of an undergraduate or a graduate education. Students and their families can expect to spend tens of thousands of dollars on their education, which can be a huge financial burden. Between the costs of tuition, fees, books, supplies, and living expenses, students are often faced with taking out large student loans in order to fund their education which can take years to pay back.
We believe that a good education is a valuable investment for the future and that financial limitations should not be a barrier to achieving that goal. To that end, we are pleased to provide financial assistance for students who are currently attending or are planning to attend college or graduate school. We will be offering a $1500 scholarship, beginning in the year 2016, which we will award to a student to aid with their college or graduate school costs.
How do I apply?
In order to apply for the scholarship, students should submit an essay between 500 and 1,000 words email@example.com. The essay must address the following topic:

Your essay should describe what safety precautions and traffic laws should be emphasized and how you plan to educate the public on the importance of these precautions and laws.
Please write your essay in a 12-point font, double spaced, and submit your essay either as a Microsoft Word document or as a PDF file. In addition to your essay, please write a brief paragraph describing the school program you are attending or are planning to attend. The scholarship is open to students pursuing all degrees or majors in any field.

Eligibility Guidelines and Overview
My father, Ray Snader, was a lifelong teacher, mentor, and wonderful father. He always sought ways for young children to better themselves. He was thrilled that I became an attorney and had elected to practice criminal defense. In his honor, I have established a scholarship that will promote an emphasis in obtaining a college education.
For those reasons, the Law Office of Howard A. Snader is offering a $2,000 scholarship for college-bound kids who live in a single parent home as a result of one parent currently being held in custody, or, because one of a parent's former incarceration, the family is unable to assist in providing financial support for their college education.
I want my lawfirm to support the dreams of any young person that wants to obtain a college education and is otherwise financially unable to do so. I want to provide that one chance for that one person who otherwise would not be able to attend college.
I am providing this opportunity to a young person who wishes to obtain a college education, but as a result of a member of their family being incarcerated as a result of a felony conviction they have a financial hardship in obtaining the necessary funds for their college education.
Although I am an attorney and practice criminal law, this scholarship is not limited to one seeking a career in law or justice studies. Rather, as my father would have hoped, this scholarship is intended to help any college bound student who has had to deal with or overcome the obstacle of a parent being held in custody.
TO BE ELIGIBLE, AN APPLICANT MUST: :
Email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org. Mr. Snader will select the top essay and award the scholarship by July 31, 2016.

The Michigan personal injury law firm Michigan Injury Lawyers is happy to announce that it will be awarding a $500 bi-yearly scholarship to a student who is planning to attend a college or university during the 2016-2017 academic year. As an attorney who attended Michigan State University for both his undergraduate studies and for law school, founding partner Thomas L. Stroble understands the value of higher education. He also understands that the ever-rising costs of a quality college or university education make it more and more difficult for many families and students to pursue their dreams of obtaining a degree. As a result, his law firm has decided to offer its first-ever scholarship essay competition to help students pay for the costs associated with obtaining an education.
Scholarship eligibility and the essay competition
In order to participate in the competition, an applicant must either be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university or be planning to enroll for the fall 2016 semester. In order to apply, applicants must write a 500-word essay on the following topic:
The CDC indicates that approximately 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs in the United States every year. Michigan law holds dog bite owners strictly liable for injuries that result after a dog bite, meaning that victims do not have to show that the owner of the dog was negligent in any way or was aware that dog was the type that may bite. This is unlike the law in many other United States jurisdictions, which follow a "one bite rule;" under this rule, dog owners are not liable for injuries that occur the first time a dog bites a person. Which rule to do you think makes more sense, and why?
Essays will be judged on the quality of the writing and the potential the applicant demonstrates for success in a field of study related to law. Our attorneys will choose a winner and notify the applicant via email. In order to apply, applicant should send their essays as an attachment firstname.lastname@example.org by April 15, 2016. Applicants should also include the following information in the body of their email:
The Clearwater auto accident attorneys at the Dolman Law Group, understand the value of education. As a result, we are offering a $1,100 BI-ANNUAL scholarship to a current or prospective college student. The scholarship will be awarded to the winner of our essay contest, the details of which are outlined below.
In order to participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Much has been made about the potential of driverless and automated car technology in recent years, and many industry observers expect this technology to be widely available within the next decade. Technology is never perfect however, and accidents involving driverless vehicles have already occurred. Various legal issues arise when autonomous cars are involved in accidents, including determining who should be held liable for an accident. In your opinion, who should be held accountable when a driverless vehicle is involved in an accident? The owner? The manufacturer? The software developer? Explain.

The DREAM Act (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) was first introduced in 2001 to benefit foreign aliens and their children seeking new lives and new opportunities in the United States. Although the act has not been passed by Congress, and despite resistance from many legislative and judicial bodies, executive action from President Obama enacting key portions of the DREAM Act represents progress for immigrants everywhere.
There is still much to be done, however, before immigrants can enjoy the full benefits of a clear path to U.S. citizenship, and many individuals will strive tirelessly in social, political, and legal arenas in order to achieve the necessary reforms. It takes a special kind of person to advocate for justice - a person who is willing to champion equal rights at the expense of certain privileges and exclusive beliefs held by many individuals and groups in our country. Now, more than ever, the individuals who desire to make a measurable difference in the area of immigration reform must be well educated, highly motivated, and have a hands-on understanding of the issues and policies in the U.S. and around the world.
The April Cockerham DREAM Act scholarship is designed to support individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of immigrants and other non-native individuals living in the United States. By furthering the educational goals of these unique members of our nation, Ms. Cockerham looks to invest in a richer, more inclusive future for our country and those who seek to join it.
April Cockerham is proud to offer this $500 scholarship to students pursuing any level of post-secondary education who submit materials in accordance with the following guidelines.
The scholarship candidate must submit a 700-word essay or statement that considers current immigration conditions and reforms in the United States and offers at least twoconcrete ways that these conditions might be improved.
The winner of the April Cockerham DREAM Act Scholarship will be announced in June of 2016.
Application Deadline and Instructions
To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must submit their full application (including the essay, personal statement, and transcript) by fax or U.S. mail before March 1, 2016. Any applications faxed or postmarked later than this date will not be considered.

It worked for us, so now we’re on a mission to spread the love and make off-campus apartment search easy across the country!

Our Michigan auto accident law firm is offering an annual scholarship for college students who were victims of car accidents earlier in their lives and who have overcome their injuries.
We understand how difficult it can be to recover after a serious injury. Our attorneys have been helping people injured in auto accidents for more than 50 years, and want to lend a hand to those who have survived serious crashes and who are demonstrating resolve and determination to rebuild their lives.
We also want to recognize individual acts of heroism and hard work. Our Car Accident Injury Survivor Scholarship serves as an important reminder that each and every person injured in an auto accident is a person, not a number or a claim. Today, most of the insurance industry uses injury claims software that dehumanizes people by putting a dollar value on a case. When personal injuries and pain and suffering are given average dollar settlement values, we lose sight of what it means when someone is hurt in a serious crash and how drastically a life can be changed.
Our hope is that by recognizing outstanding young people who have overcome serious injury, we can remind everyone that car accident injury survivors are people.
Our annual scholarship of $500 will be awarded to two applicants in 2016.

General Scholarship Information & Application Form
Here at John Foy & Associates, we are known as the "Strong Arm of Georgia". We are a tough Georgia law firm that will fight to the finish for our clients. But our associates know that not every battle is fought in the courtroom. Fighting a disease requires more than a legal "Strong Arm" - it requires a dedicated team of medical staff, loved ones and countless more. Fighting leukemia requires determination, drive and diligence in both the patient and the patient's loved ones. Often, the battle is a solitary one, isolating the patient and family. Our firm associates recognize this. That's why we are delighted to introduce the first-ever John Foy & Associates "Strong Arm" Leukemia Scholarship in time to honor Leukemia month in September. Our $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one college student who has battled leukemia or whose life has been affected by it.
"We are honored to be a part of this brave community," said firm founder John M. Foy. "We started this scholarship to raise awareness of the issues that face leukemia patients and their family members."
Leukemia is the most common cancer in children and teens, and it’s one of the most diagnosed in adults. A phenomenal amount of medical research has been successful in raising the survival rate in children from 10% in the 1970s to more than 80% today. If you or someone you love have been affected by this disease, you have already been in the fight of your life. Now you have a chance to attend college and move in a positive direction, by educating yourself to secure a brighter future. As attorneys, we appreciate the intrinsic value of a college, not just as a formal education but also as a way to advance your life. Let us help you help yourself.
The John Foy & Associates "Strong Arm" Leukemia Scholarship is open to high-achieving college students who meet this criteria:
To apply, you must write a 500 to 1000 word essay on one of the three topics listed below and submit an official high school or college transcript. You may only apply online at this website.
Our attorneys will determine a selection committee to choose the winner and the winner will be announced publicly through the media and featured on our website. It is our hope that our scholarship program will inspire young people who have been affected by this very common type of cancer to lead inspired lives.
