Mother Nature thinks it’s too early for softball in Northern Nevada. She may be right.
The Western Nevada College softball team will have to wait a few more weeks to open its home season after this weekend’s pending series against Snow College of Utah was cancelled due to predicted bad weather.
WNC Athletics Director John Kinkella announced the change Wednesday morning after consultation with the Wildcats’ scheduled opponent, Snow College of Utah.
Athletics directors for both schools agreed that the two teams will play March 24-25 at a neutral site – the games will be added to the Wildcats’ scheduled four-game stand at Salt Lake Community College on March 26-27.
That moves WNC’s home softball opener to Friday, March 12, against College of Southern Idaho.
