Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Surveys traditional life and modern conditions of American Indians with emphasis on the western United States.

II: Course Objectives

Students will have a basic understanding of:

  • The cultures of native peoples of the Western United States;
  • The principles and theories of ethnographic study; and
  • Value and importance of human diversity
  • Students will exercise the following academic skills: reading, writing, oral communication, and online and library research.
