Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician-Phlebotomy (LTE) certification preparation is being modified. For the fall 2013 semester, LTE 110 will be replaced with LTE 101 and LTE 102, and students will be required to complete the two courses of certification preparation. Laboratory technician students learn to perform routine medical lab tests and procedures under supervision. They also learn to record and analyze test results. Classes cover lab math, medical computer software, clinical chemistry, the study of blood and urine and other topics.

Please be aware that the process for enrolling in CNA, EMS and LTE classes has changed and it may take two to three weeks to complete. Please begin the enrollment process early. Please read all the information carefully and once you get to the mystudentcheck website pick Western Nevada College – CNA EMS LTE – Immunization Only not Background Check unless told otherwise by the Office of Nursing.
