I. Catalog Course Description

Prerequisite: Previous success in Intermediate Algebra or Algebra II or higher algebra course.
Provides a review of algebra that will refresh previously taught concepts. Designed for students who have successfully completed Algebra II or Intermediate Algebra or similar course sometime in the past. Provides a condensed review of topics from Intermediate Algebra intended to help students place into the appropriate course via Accuplacer Exam.

II: Course Objectives

This class is designed to provide a review of algebra that will enable students to remember concepts taught previously so students will not spend so much academic time in remediation.

Upon completion of this course, successful students should be able to work with the following:

  • Demonstrate order of operations
  • Solve linear equations
  • Solve linear inequalities
  • Graph linear functions and inequalities
  • Solve quadratic equations by factoring
  • Evaluate functions
  • Graph quadratic functions
  • Solve systems of linear equations and inequalities
  • Applied problems
