Para-medicine & Emergency Medical Services Pathways

This program prepares individuals to serve the public as EMTs and Paramedics. Students will learn the techniques needed to respond to health emergencies and help individuals in times of distress.

Emergency Medical Services

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is designed for individuals interested in providing care to patients in the pre-hospital setting, and will prepare students for Paramedic level training. This program will provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for an entry-level EMT/AEMT and allow eligibility to sit for national and state testing for emergency medical technician and advanced emergency medical technician. The program meets or exceeds the required skills and knowledge as set forth by the NHTSA’s office of EMS National EMS Education Standards and Instructional Guidelines.

Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

For certified EMTs, WNC offers training for career advancement. Students will learn to incorporate knowledge of basic and advanced emergency medical care for critically ill and emergent patients to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with acute out-of-hospital medical and traumatic emergencies.

Para-medicine

Continue your education at WNC with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Organization and Project Management. Individuals with an associate degree can enroll in this online degree to gain skills in project management while developing leadership/management skills.

Associate of Arts, Business, and Science degrees are intended for transfer to another NSHE institution. Associate of Applied Science degrees are for a specific occupation, intended to respond to the needs of the workforce and may transfer to a NSHE institution offering a Bachelor of Applied Science degree.
