Western Nevada College has added some muscle to its Automotive Technology Department and a variety of equipment to its Machine Tool Technology Department through the generosity of community members.
Tammy Hurst-Sawyer of Carson City donated a 1985 Pontiac Firebird to the college. The muscle car is in running condition and has an estimated value of $4,995. It will be used for student learning in the college’s automotive classes.
George Liddell of Carson City recently donated hundreds of tools to the college. His donations included 400 used drills, reamers and splitting saws with arbors.
“Through donations from people in the community we serve, our efforts to provide quality education are strengthened. Your support of Western Nevada College and its students is greatly appreciated,†said WNC President Chester Burton.
