Opportunity knocks for job-minded WNC students and graduates on Friday, April 1, when WNC hosts a Career Fair on the Carson City campus, 2201 West College Parkway. The event runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with activities centered at the Reynolds Center.
Representatives from more than 40 local businesses have been invited to meet with current students and graduates. Business leaders from various fields will promote their companies and speak to attendees about job opportunities.
The event is being presented by the Associated Students of Western Nevada College, WNC Counseling Services, Career Connect, and WNC Student Life.
“We want to help WNC students find employment after graduation,†said Lilly Leon-Vicks, Student Life coordinator and an adviser to ASWN.
Participants may be seeking permanent jobs, summer jobs, or an internship to enhance workforce opportunities.
“We highly encourage fall and spring graduates, along with our student veterans to attend. This is a campus-wide opportunity and we hope everyone will take advantage of it,†Leon-Vicks said.
Students can prepare for the Career Fair in the coming month, Leon-Vicks said. “We will offer free resume reviews, mock interviews and career tips. For those attending the Career Fair we will facilitate their participation with employers,†Leon-Vicks said.
There is no cost to attend.
