Jayna Conkey, a graphic design professor at Western Nevada College, was one of 40 artists recently selected to contribute to the International Juried Exhibition at the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art.
Her artwork, titled “Wilhelm Von Gloeden, Taormina 1,” was chosen for the exhibition, which will be shown through July 6. It is part of her “Withdrawn” book project.
The exhibition features digital art and photography, with Bryan Barcena of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and Nicholas Barlow of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art serving as jurors/curators.
Prior to the L.A. exhibit, the same image by Conkey was part of another juried exhibition — “Sensuous Geographies” — at the Praxis Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis. The exhibit ran from May 24 through June 23.
