Transfer & Returning Students

Welcome to WNC! Below are useful steps for transfer and returning students to WNC:

1. Apply for admission online

Go to Apply Online and fill out the online application for admission. Returning students to WNC should apply online if two or more years have passed. Please allow 3-5 business days for the application to be processed. Once accepted an email will provide instructions for students to set up their MyWNC anywhere accounts.

2. Send official transcripts to WNC from previous institution(s)

Transfer students can communicate with previous institution(s) to complete this step.

3. Submit a Petition for Transfer Credit Evaluation

Transfer students can complete a Petition for Transfer Credit Evaluation to ensure transfer credits are evaluated toward certificate of achievement or degree of choice.

4. Attend orientation

New Student Orientation is an informational session to help students make a successful transition to the college environment. Orientation provides pertinent information related to academic expectations, financial assistance and other campus resources and services.

5. Meet with a counselor

Counselors are here to help! Counselors will assist transfer and returning students to stay on track with their certificate of achievement and/or degree program.

When the Petition for Transfer Credit Evaluation is in process for transfer students please bring an unofficial transcript from your previous institution to a counselor as this can help with class selections. The most relevant examples are to determine English and math placement and/or when prerequisites are needed to register for one or more classes.

Have a great semester!
