Indigo Hinojos

Indigo is a current junior majoring in Gender, Race, and Identity with a minor in Ethnic Studies. They are the current president and co-founder of the Gender, Race, and Identity Club on campus and the treasurer for the Queer Student Union. They are a part of the 2021 McNair Scholars Cohort and a recipient of the Fall Nevada Undergraduate Research Award 2021. Indigo is currently researching with their mentor, Dr. Lydia Huerta, on the closure of the UNR Women’s Resource Center. During the summer of 2020 Indigo took part in the inaugural summer fellowship for the Every Voice Coalition. This is a nonprofit organization that helps to pass student and survivor written legislation to help put resources for survivors on college campuses.

They continued as the State Director, and with students from all over the state passed the law here within Nevada.
