Do you have the heart to hike the longest engineering marvel in the world?
If so, then sign up for a virtual hike of the Great Wall of China as part of Student Life and Associated Students of Western Nevada’s Heart Awareness Challenge starting Monday, Feb. 16.
Register a team by emailing email@example.com with your team name, captain’s email address and a list of team members (minimum of three people and maximum of six).
Teams accumulate steps by walking, running, swimming, etc., with steps being converted to miles. To easily convert your activity to mileage, see www.purdue.edu/walktothemoon/activities.html.
ASWN will post the top three mileage loggers each week on its homepage. The top five teams will receive T-shirts commemorating the challenge, and the top three teams will earn additional prizes.
The four-week challenge continues through March 16. The goal for teams representing WNC’s three campuses is to reach 1,000 miles per week and 4,000 total miles.
The Great Wall in China has nearly 4,000 miles of existing wall that was created during the Ming Dynasty to protect against raids and invasions.
