Institutional Research & Effectiveness
How do I use the dashboards?
Clicking on the dashboard links will take you to an interactive set of data typically organized by tabs at the top. Click on the tabs to navigate between views. Filters at the right provide the opportunity to select a subset of data. You can clear filters by clicking ‘Reset’ at the bottom left of the screen. Print a dashboard by clicking on ‘Download’ at the bottom right corner, choose PDF, ‘This Dashboard,’ and click again on ‘Download.’ The PDF will go to your /downloads/folder and you can print from there.
How do I get additional data or information?
We welcome you to review our dashboards and explore data yourself, but in the event that you can’t find what you’re looking for, please email both email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org and include the nature of the data you’re looking for and any applicable deadlines. Please note that certain data requests can take up to three-four weeks to complete, so submitting your data request early is appreciated.
What is WNC’s policy on survey creation and implementation?
All surveys conducted at WNC, whether they are intended for students, faculty and staff, or other specific populations, are overseen and administered through the Institutional Research and Effectiveness office. IRE is available to help you develop questions that will gather the information you’re looking for, design an effective survey, and collect and analyze responses. If you are interested in conducting a survey for any purpose, please begin by contacting Mandy Billings, Planning and Assessment Coordinator: email@example.com
WNC’s College Policy on Research governs survey creation and implementation within the college. Survey projects that do not meet the following criteria must be approved by the SPFIE Subcommittee on Research:
- Regular classroom examinations, research assignments, or test studies.
- Faculty research protected by academic freedom.
- Survey by academic faculty of their students.
- Survey by administrative and executive faculty of academic faculty, students or classified employees
For more information, please review WNC Policy 2-1-1: Research or contact IRE.
