Western Nevada College Specialty Crop Institute offers a QuickBooks for the Small Farm Workshop Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14 and 15, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at WNC Fallon Campus, 160 Campus Way.Â¬ Lunch is included both days. Online registration is available at https://www.wnc.edu/ce/sci/.
The workshop is designed for small farm agricultural producers and provides an introduction on how to use the QuickBooks accounting system, along with tips on business planning. Attendees will learn how to set up and use QuickBooks, how to understand reports for business decision-making, and how to keep essential records for government and other business purposes. The workshop will include 12 hours of instruction, including hands-on computer training.
Featured speaker and instructor Marie Gibson is an Advanced QuickBooks Pro Advisor and a member of Intuitâ€™s National Speaker and Writer Network. She is a professional educator, speaker and author with more than 25 years of business experience. Gibson has degrees in Animal Science, Renewable Resources and Business Administration and comes from a fifth generation farming family in Northern California.
The WNC Specialty Crop Institute is an innovative program to provide training for Nevada’s high desert farms and ranches. Funding for this project is provided by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
