Western Nevada College honored two dedicated and long-serving employees with faculty emeritus status on May 22.
Receiving emeritus appointments were Danna Sturm and the late Renee Magrini.
Sturm was a key member of the library’s professional staff and repeatedly served on college committees. She retired in December of 2016 after 20 years of service to the college.
Family members accepted Magrini’s emerita recognition for her. She taught biology, chemistry and microbiology at WNC for more than 20 years.
The newly appointed faculty emeritus honorees were recognized by WNC President Chester Burton for their years of service to students, faculty and staff and presented with plaques prior to commencement ceremonies on May 22.
For emeritus status consideration, the candidate must be a WNC faculty member for at least 10 years, served in academic or administrative positions and have a distinguished history of service to WNC.
