Students at Western Nevada College have elected Viridiana Miranda as the Associated Students of Western Nevada’s 2018-19 president.
Miranda is one of seven students elected to represent the student body of Western Nevada College.
Miranda was elected as vice president for the 2017-18 school year and was appointed president when the position became vacant this spring.
“I want to make improvements to ASWN to give students more of an opening to learn about the college and how the business end of this team works,” Miranda said prior to the election.
In addition, Cinthia DelDuca has been elected as vice president. DelDuca has been a student at WNC since 2015 and earned her Associate of Arts degree last fall.
WNC sophomore Dennis Martinez was elected as secretary/treasurer.
Elected senators are Aldo Padilla, Keveen Padilla, Larry Garcia and Miriam Torres.
The Associated Students of Western Nevada is made up of students who attend WNC’s Carson City, Douglas and Fallon campuses. They coordinate student activities and organizations, participate in college committees and help assess student needs. Any student who is enrolled at WNC can be a member of ASWN.
