Problems connecting to the internet? Call the Eduroam Support Desk at 775-784-4WNC (784-4962).

Wireless (WiFi) Access

WNC supports an extensive wireless network that covers all buildings on each campus.

All active students, faculty and staff should access the eduroam signal for laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. In areas where eduroam is not yet available, please use WNC-Staff, WNC-Student or WNC cWireless signals. Students, faculty and staff may log in to these signals using their WNC Anywhere username and password.

Visitors to the College can receive permission to access the WNC-Guest signal by completing a wireless guest account request form and submitting through a College sponsor.

Eduroam

Eduroam is the wireless signal for all students, faculty, and staff at WNC. Additionally, visitors from other eduroam participating campuses can easily access this signal using the same credentials they use at the institution they are from.

Access to eduroam is available on campus in all locations where there is wifi. After you successfully log into eduroam, you will have internet access (some restrictions apply).

How to Access Eduroam

  1. On your device, go to the wifi settings screen and select eduroam.
  2. Enter in your WNC Anywhere login in the form of (first.last@wnc.edu or w1234567890@wnc.edu) and login password.
  3. When prompted, accept the certificate.
  4. You should now be connected to the eduroam network.

Members of WNC visiting other organizations should enter their username as first.last@wnc.edu or w1234567890@wnc.edu and then use their WNC Anywhere password.

Some organizations may require a visiting user to download a small application on their computer before they can access the eduroam wireless network.

Troubleshooting

  • Computing Services is unable to troubleshoot or reset the password for credentials from another organization.
  • Follow our general instructions on wireless troubleshooting.
  • If your organization does not participate in eduroam, consider connecting to the WNC-Guest network.
  • Contact Computing Services with any questions you may have.

WNC Guest accounts can be created by connecting to the WNC-Guest signal and following the instructions.  A cell phone capable of receiving SMS messages, or the ability to access email without needing to connect to a wifi signal is required.
