Western Nevada College is making it easier for Spanish speakers in our community to learn machining skills that can lead to good-paying jobs. The college has hired two bilingual teaching assistants for the evening machining classes in an effort to assist those who wish to learn a variety of machining skills.
Classes include Introduction to MTT I Manual Lathes, MTT II Introduction to Manual Mills, MTT III Surface Grinding and MTT IV practice sessions.
“They can take classes towards a MTT certificate or the big goal of acquiring their AAS degree,†said WNC MTT Instructor David Fulton. “They can start a good career or advance on the one they have.â€
