The 2019 graduating class at Western Nevada College will be celebrated in a commencement ceremony on Monday, May 20 at the Marv Teixeira Pavilion in Carson City.
Marv Teixeira Pavilion is located in Mills Park at 111 East William Street on U.S. Highway 50. Doors open at 9 a.m. for seating, with the ceremony starting at 10 a.m.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak and Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford will address WNC’s graduating class during its Commencement Ceremony.
Graduates can purchase their cap, gown and tassel right up through the morning of graduation day at the WNC bookstore. The bookstore plans to be open at 8 a.m. on graduation day. Those items won’t be available at the graduation ceremony. The bookstore will also have graduation announcements available. For more information, contact the bookstore at 775-445-3233.
Graduates check in at 9 a.m. on the east end of the Marv Teixeira Pavilion. Graduating students will line up for the procession a half hour before the ceremony. Ushers will guide graduates through the ceremony.
Academic honors that students receive during the ceremony are determined by grade-point averages through fall 2018; grades from spring semester won’t be finalized for the ceremony.
