Western Nevada College honored 45 associate degree nursing graduates during the nursing program’s traditional pinning ceremony on May 19 at the Carson City Community Center.
In addition, WNC’s nursing program recognized 10 students for their academic excellence:
Stephanie Asher, Katharyn Kurek and Randall Oxoby received the National Student Nursing Association Outstanding Student Award; Jessie Perez and Kristen Pier were presented with the Nurse of Achievement Award; Patrick Binder and Katrina Joy shared the Spirit of Nursing Award; Amber Grabow and Kelsey Ricketts took home the Top Academic Student Award; and Shawna Hewson received the Associated Students of Western Nevada Outstanding Student of the Year Nursing Award.
WNC President Chester Burton provided welcoming remarks, while WNC Nursing/Allied Health Director Judith Cordia delivered introductions and a welcoming speech. Class President Kendall Valdez spoke to the grads and attendees.
